Adult-managed accounts and school use

Children may read the library without an account. Accounts, submissions, comments, and recording uploads must be managed by an adult; children must not independently register or submit personal information.

StorySprouts does not currently offer student accounts, a school-authorization workflow, or a class-only sharing space. Do not use it to collect identifiable student books, comments, or recordings as a classroom activity until appropriate authorization and data-handling procedures are in place. A teacher account does not authorize recording a child or publishing student information. The recording feature requires the account holder to be the parent or legal guardian of every child recorded.

Do not assume school approval permits public YouTube sharing, promotion, or the commercial licensing of a student’s work. Review the children’s privacy and school-use guidance and the Author Agreement before using submission or sharing features. StorySprouts has not yet completed verification needed to claim COPPA compliance for collecting student information.

Operator and scope

StorySprouts is operated by AI Fusion Technologies, LLC. These terms apply to StorySprouts reading-video recording, uploading, playback, and featuring features. Using these features means you agree to these terms and the StorySprouts Privacy Policy at https://mystorysprouts.com/privacy.

YouTube services

StorySprouts uses YouTube API Services. By using these features, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Google processes information under the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Permission and ownership

You retain your rights in your original contributions. You must have the rights and permissions needed to record and upload the book, illustrations, music, voices, and images included in your video. Access to a book on StorySprouts does not by itself grant permission to republish it. You must have permission from everyone recorded and be the parent or legal guardian of every child you record. An adult must manage recording and submission.

Permission to provide the service

Selecting Save recording uploads your video automatically, without a separate upload-permission checkbox. By saving, you authorize StorySprouts to process the recording, upload it to the organization’s YouTube channel, and display it according to the permissions you choose. This permission covers only operating the reading-video service and sharing you explicitly authorize; it does not transfer ownership of your work. Public featuring requires a separate request and administrator approval.

Unlisted sharing

Unlisted videos can be watched and shared by anyone with their YouTube link, including people without a StorySprouts account. Account access controls do not make an unlisted YouTube video private. Publicly featured videos are available to everyone. Withdrawing a feature returns an unlisted reading to unlisted visibility; it does not invalidate its link.

Storage and removal

StorySprouts temporarily retains a server copy while an upload or processing is incomplete, or while YouTube restricts playback. After verified processing and unrestricted unlisted or public embedding, the server video copy is removed. You can delete your recording and its YouTube copy from My readings. A failed YouTube removal must be retried before deletion is complete. Deleting a recording cannot recall copies other people made. Keep your own copy if you need a personal archive.

Appropriate use

Do not submit unlawful, abusive, infringing, or misleading content, or private information you lack permission to share. StorySprouts may decline public featuring or remove access to content that violates these terms. YouTube may separately restrict or remove videos under its policies. Availability of uploading and playback depends on YouTube and the site’s operating limits.
